We strive to foster an inclusive and environmentally responsible centre that not only advances community well-being but also leads the way in addressing global challenges in the light of divine message, ensuring that our impact resonates locally and globally.

Introduction

The Islamic Research Centre, established in 2007, has been a pivotal institution dedicated to addressing the growing scholarly needs of society, with a focus on enabling and accelerating sustainable development.

The Centre is currently housed within the Department of Islamic Studies and focuses on the followings:

Ø  Developing a robust methodology for research in various fields of Islamic learning.

Ø  Identifying and studying contemporary issues to provide Islamic perspectives and solutions.

Ø  Interpreting Islamic teachings to help the Muslim Ummah live in accordance with Islamic principlesThe centre produces high-quality research on a wide range of topics within Islamic studies, which is disseminated through various publications, including books, monographs, research reports, and a biannual research journal. Additionally, the Centre actively organizes seminars, conferences, lecture series, and workshops, often in collaboration with the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), universities and other institutes, to foster academic discourse and community engagement.

Through these efforts, the Islamic Research Centre continues to play a crucial role in advancing Islamic scholarship and addressing contemporary challenges faced by the Muslim community.

Objectives

Ø  To translate significant works in Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, and other Islamic sciences into multiple languages, making them accessible to a global audience and preserving the richness of Islamic intellectual heritage.

Ø  To meticulously compile, translate, and publish carefully selected materials from the most authentic and outstanding works in Islamic learning, ensuring the dissemination of authentic and valuable knowledge.

Ø  To publish monographs, books, research reports, and other scholarly materials that contribute to the advancement of knowledge on various aspects of Islam, addressing both classical and contemporary issues.

Ø  To organize seminars, conferences, exhibitions, and workshops that foster a deeper understanding of Islamic teachings, encourage critical thinking, and promote a balanced approach to addressing modern challenges.

Ø  To facilitate peaceful coexistence and harmony among diverse schools of thought by encouraging dialogue, mutual respect, and collaboration, thereby promoting unity within the Muslim Ummah and broader society.

Ø  To equip students, professionals, and researchers with the tools and knowledge necessary to engage with Islamic teachings in a meaningful way, enabling them to contribute positively to their communities and the wider world.
