Abstract

The knowledge of the names and attributes of Allah Almighty is more important than all other sciences, because the value of knowledge depends on the importance of the things that come from it. The knowledge and worship of Allah Almighty is impossible without knowing the names and attributes of Allah Almighty. In view of this importance, the basic sources of religion, the Qur'an and the Hadith, mention the names and attributes of the Almighty in detail, and scholars of every age have made it a topic of discussion and presented their researches on it. Muslim intellectuals have different, diverse and contradictory views on the attributes of the Almighty. Each group has expressed its concern about their faith and belief in them and their interpretation. The following article will discuss the meaning of the attributes of the Almighty, their different types, the attributes of the Almighty in the Qur'an and Sunnah, the different views of the Muslim scholars about them and the different ways of interpreting them. Scholars have written books under the name of Gharib-ul-Quran and Hadith for the literal explanation of the rare and unique words in the Qur'an and Sunnah. At the end of the article, The style of interpreting the attributes of the Allah Almighty will be explained in the books of Gharib al-Hadith.
