Abstract

History always witnesses some personalities who serve not only a particular society but also serve humanity. Mahmoud Taymour (1894 – 1973) is a legendary personality of Egypt and the Arab world, having the same character. In the academic environment, he is recognized as a renowned essayist, novelist and short story writer. He is also believed, by experts of the field, as a contemporary dramatist in Arabic language. He has got education and inspiration under the kind control of his father Ahmad Timor Pasha; a well-known writer and Islamic scholar. Mahmoud Taymour’s family used to host educational and intellectual formus at his residence, attended by the great Islamic intellectuals and thinkers like Muhammad Abdu Hu, Shanqeeti and Sami Albaroodi. While getting inspiration from such great scholars, Mahmoud Taymour has a contribution in Islamic literature. The present research aims to highlight his prominent position with minute and comprehensive details. It is proved in the present work, with solid arguments, that he has a vibrant contribution in Islamic literature. Based on his contribution, many scholars, predominantly those who are related to Islamic literature have developed new dimensions in the same field.
