Abstract

In a search for the causes of recent global economic turmoil and financial crises, many scholars believe the root of these upheavals is the lack of ethics in business (exchange). This necessitates the call to consolidate the relationship between economics and ethics; a trend is well observed and variably documented in the literatures of prominent economists.

This research aims to investigate ethics in exchanges from Islamic economics perspective and its economic impacts.

The research has come to several conclusions, including:

·         The most important cause of the economic problems is the absence of ethics in economic exchange.
·         Exchange in Islamic Economics depends on mandatory ethical rules.
·         Ethics exchange in Islamic Economics is global, where Muslims are abiding to adhere with all parties.
·         Ethics exchanges in Islamic Economics have several objectives, including:
o   Ensuring justice in exchange averting injustice.
o   Transactions stability and the reduction of economic problems.
o   Maintain the unity of community achieving harmony and love.
o   Minimizing financial and economic rivalries and disputes that reduce the consequent costs and negative effects.
o   Reduction of the financial and economic corruption.
o   Linking financial and real economies.
o   Encourage competition, free trade, and equal exchange of information between the parties according to market system.

Decrease the commercial intermediaries and thus reduce exchange costs.
