Abstract

In the beginning of the twentieth century, the world was deprived of the advanced modes of transportation. The system of road transport was confined to the use of animal-drawn vehicles. Since, the need of transportation was limited, it was not organized by government and authorities. However, with the dawn of human advancements, a well-developed transport system was needed as a primary requirement. Hence, dimensions of the transport system expanded, and it became one of the most important responsibilities of governments in all countries. As the government is a sponsor of society and is responsible for its provision in the light of Shariah, the government must feel its responsibilities and try to accomplish it. If this important aspect is neglected or ignored, it will lead to anarchy and chaos in the country and will eventually result in deterioration of people`s living standard. That is why needed to do a research on the said topic, where will be – Insha Allah o Ta’ala- effort to mention the responsibilities of the state regarding building roads, railway tracks, sidewalks, fly-overs/under-passes, mosques and rest areas  alongside the roads, and their maintenance, as well as installation of traffic signs and signals and guiding maps, health care services and parking lots, and to provide safety and security to people`s lives and their belongings, and preventing illegal stalls/booths and parking of vehicles on the roads, and to prevent the usage of roads that are in bad condition for travelling.
